Building Level Planning
North Platte Public Schools have been involved in
revolutionizing
technology use throughout the district for the past few years.
To
further that process, each building will develop a building level plan
based on the following framework.
It is important to remember that we are looking at an overall
picture of what we want students to be able to do and to not get caught
up in the minute details. This is a BIG PICTURE plan.

Tech Framework
A
building level technology framework should start with the following
procedures:
- Begin with a Student Centered Vision
- Review current curriculum
- Identify products, in general, overall terms, that students can produce within the
current curriculum
- List products, in general terms, we want students to digitally create to show
what they know
- Identify and match products with ISTE NETS
- Identify digital devices and software that we currently
have and
determine new devices and software needed for students to produce
products
- List digital devices and software needed to enable students
in creating their products
- Identify professional development needed to utilize digital
devices and software
- Develop showcase systems and designate plans to share student created products and projects
- Develop a four year deployment of digital devices and
software
Things to Ask Yourself and to Consider
Ask Yourself:
- What overall curriculum do I teach?
- What general products can my students create to show
what they know?
- What resources do my students need?
Considerations:
- Portability
- Assistive Technology
- Associated demands...
- System Requirements
- Logistics/Deployment (When, Where, How)
- Professional Development
